Hello there! I’m Julia, and I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m an actor, singer, and voice instructor based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Whether I’m bringing stories to life onstage as a performer or serving students as a voice teacher, I’m passionate about collaboration and what we can create together as artists.
While my interest in the arts began at an early age, I’m proud of my wide-ranging educational and career experiences and believe they have only enriched my performing and teaching abilities. (Ask me about the time I co-lead a 5-day hike for teenage girls in the White Mountains in New Hampshire…)!
As a Minnesota native, I graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Music, Race & Ethnic Studies, and German. After college, I proudly completed two years of AmeriCorps service with the non-profit, College Possible. My journey took me to New York where I received a Master of Music in Vocal Performance, emphasis in Music Theatre, and a Post-Master’s Advanced Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy, both from New York University.
Ultimately, the pandemic brought me back home to the Twin Cities where I work frequently as an actor, singer, and passionate voice teacher with a full studio of private students. I also proudly service on the Voice Faculty at Carleton College.
When I’m not rehearsing for an upcoming project or teaching one of my wonderful students, you’ll probably find me cooking up something new in my kitchen (check out my “foods” highlight on my instagram!), walking around one of Minnesota’s many lakes, or doing a crossword puzzle while sipping a coffee.
